Bob Corfields Macchi MC72 seaplane, the original was designed to compete in the 1931 Schneider Trophy but build problem prevented it competing, it was later flown as a speed record plane and held the outright World Aviation speed record until 1939 and still holds to this day the speed record for a piston engine seaplane.
